Pancreatic Research Activities at the MGH

Surgeons from the Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Surgery perform more pancreatic resections than any facility in the Northeast (over 180 procedures per year). These resections include Whipple procedures (pancreatoduodenectomies), distal pancreatectomies, and middle pancreatectomies.

The MGH Division of Hematology and Oncology provides comprehensive hematology and medical oncology services. The Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center is one of the leading cancer treatment and research facilities in New England. 

The Tucker Gosnell Center for Gastrointestinal Cancers at Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center is one of the largest and most experienced centers in New England for the care of patients diagnosed with, or at high risk for, gastrointestinal cancers including pancreatic cancer. The center offers patients and referring physicians a wide range of services, including screening, genetic counseling, diagnosis, and state-of-the-art treatments.
